This is a branded short documentary produced by BBC Storyworks centres on Gui Tea, a producer of Chinese matcha tea in the tea-growing region of Guizhou. The score moves from uplifting piano and strings which accompany the cinematic shots of tea fields; to synth arpeggios that highlight factory scenes; to a simple, subtle beat in the final section that focuses on business owners putting their own spin on drinking and eating matcha.
As well as creating the score, I also provided the sound design which was primarily comprised of my own home-made Foley sound effects, and mixed all of the film’s dialogue.
